Alan Crivellaro

Alan Crivellaro is a sought-after keynote speaker, plant scientist, and appreciated teacher who believes in sharing the pleasure of finding things out.

Alan is living his professional life studying plants through the microscope and teaching. But he got frustrated with attending so many boring scientific presentations. Therefore he decided to take action to see if he could make a difference. After spending most of the last 20 years teaching and doing science in collaboration with scientists from five continents, in 2020 he created Presenting Scientists to help young and experienced scientists to excel through the presentations they deliver and to boost their career.

Alan holds a degree in forestry and environmental sciences and a PhD in ecology from the University of Padova. He is now a Research Associate at the Department of Geography at the University of Cambridge. He is also active in promoting plant knowledge by sharing the beauty of plants as seen through the microscope (http://www.xylorama.com) and spreading his knowledge on wood identification to save forests.
